Bagel Meister–Douglasville, Georgia.
I took a little trip “home” (Georgia) recently to visit some family during the holiday. I ended up being super hungry after a day of running around in the rain. I popped into this little gem which is conveniently located right off the highway.
There was a small line, but the wait wasn’t too long. I frequented this place when I lived and worked there so I was familiar with the routine. I didn’t see it advertised, but I already knew about the mix and match or “pick 2” option.
At Bagel Meister, you can mix and match two of the following: soup, salad, or a sandwich. Sometimes they have specials which run anywhere from $5-7 depending on the protein and it comes with a drink and a side.
I went with my mix and match option of Roasted Red Pepper Soup and the Tuscan Chicken Panini. I was NOT disappointed.
I was so hungry that I actually took a bite before I remembered to take the picture. I have definitely had the soup before, which if I remember correctly has smoked gouda bits in it…*drools* It’s a creamy soup and super savory.
The spices don’t overpower the actual flavor of the red peppers in the soup and the consistency (for me anyway) was perfect. A rainy day hug in your stomach. — I definitely scraped the container savagely, wishing more would instantly appear…it did not.
The Tuscan Chicken Panini was everything it should’ve been. Bites into moist chicken with a few baby greens, roasted red peppers (complimented the soup well), red onions and provolone, and the best part was the homemade aioli spread.
I am already a fan of aioli, but the aioli this sandwich was delicious. There was not an excessive amount of aioli on the sandwich, but just enough blend with the other items on the sandwich.
My only regret was not taking more pictures before I inhaled this delicious creation. If you ever find your self on the outskirts of Atlanta West, please support this fine establishment.
